Understanding Our Communities
Public services across Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf (Cwm Taf), including Councils, the health board, the Police, the Fire service and third sector organisations, are doing some work to gain a better understanding of what matters to people and communities and how their ideas, experiences and what they have to offer can help us to plan and provide our services.
Why are we doing this?
Two new acts have been introduced by Welsh Government – the Well-Being of Future Generations (Wales) Act and the Social Services and Well-Being (Wales) Act.
The Acts have been put in place to improve the environmental, economic, cultural and social well-being of Wales and to also improve the well-being of people who need care and support and carers who need support. To enable a plan for improvement, Cwm Taf public services are carrying out this consultation to assess community well-being and/or need for care and support and produce a plan for improvement.
To help us to do this, we need you tell us your views.
We want these conversations to be positive, about the good things about communities, how these can be built on and what is important to the people who know best; the people who live and work in the area.
How can you get involved?
Questionnaires are available online (www.cwmtafhub.com) and in libraries, sports centres and Council buildings across Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf. Copies in other formats are also available on request.
We will be attending lots of events over the summer where you can join us and have your say. Details of all events will be promoted on our Facebook and Twitter pages:
- Merthyr Tydfil CBC
- Rhondda Cynon Taf Council
- Cwm Taf University Health Board
- CwmTafConsult
