Council Planners to Hold Training Session on Dealing with Agricultural Building Applications

news.wales / newyddion.cymru

COUNCIL planners will hold a training session to discuss how they deal with applications for agricultural buildings in fields with no buildings.
“It is becoming a big issue,” Monmouthshire County Council’s head of planning Andrew Jones said when he presented the service’s annual report for 2025/26 to a scrutiny committee and was asked about training for planning officers, which isn’t budget for.
He said it does fund training, including post graduate qualifications, as well as meetings among staff on specific issues.
Mr Jones said the department will “sit down this week to agree an approach” on agricultural buildings.  ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
