Electoral services are responsible for compiling the electoral roll as well as the conduct of all elections and referenda held within the county of Monmouthshire. This includes: ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

  • compiling and publishing the electoral roll annually
  • the administration of postal and proxy voting
  • maintaining lists of service and overseas electors
  • promoting participation in democracy and electoral boundary issues

Electoral Register ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

To add your details to the electoral roll you can do so online at www.gov.uk/registertovote or contact electoral services for an application form. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Information on the new system of individual registration. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Information on the open register and an application form to remove your details permanently from the open register is available by contacting the elections office on 01633 644212 or email elections@monmouthshire.gov.uk ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Postal and Proxy Voting ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

If you cannot attend a polling station on polling day to cast your vote you can apply to vote by post or appoint a person to vote on your behalf. Application forms to alter your method of voting are available. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

How do I vote?
