Plans Approved for Padel Court at £2.7 Million Mansion in Monmouthshire

PLANS for a padel court at a £2.7 million mansion in the Monmouthshire countryside have been approved.
The Cedars in Llanbadoc, near Usk, already boasts its own indoor swimming pool and gym along with a stable block.
County council planners have approved an application by homeowner Mr J Morgan for the padel court which will be 10 metres wide and 20 metres long with surrounding safety glass screen fencing up to 3.9 metres high while mesh fencing surrounding the court will be three metres high.
The padel court will have a surface area of 200 square metres and an all-weather ‘astro turf’ permeable playing surface.
The surrounding gravelled area has already been installed and while the total area is greater than 100 square metres, requiring sustainable drainage consent information on drainage has been supplied to the council’s satisfaction.
Two bird nest boxes and an insect hotel will be installed on-site in the garden to deliver a biodiversity net gain in line with planning policy.
Planing officer Jennifer Savage said in a report, which approved the application, the court will be 7.5 metres from the nearest group of protected trees in the grounds of the property.
The Cedars was previously advertised for sale with a guide price of £2.7m  ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
