Family Information Service Launches New Mascot & Trailer
The Council has launched a new mascot to promote its family dedicated service.
The new mascot, known as Sheldon, has been introduced to head up a promotional campaign for the Council’s Family Information Service.
Sheldon, the bright blue cartoon character has been busy towing his fun and colourful walk-in trailer around the borough giving out freebies and family related information. Sheldon and his trailer visited various places across the borough during the half-term holidays to meet with local families. Sheldon’s tour included Margam Park, Gnoll Park, Angel Square in Neath and Port Talbot Civic Square.
The Family Information Service provides the latest details on what is available for families on a range of topics including childcare, education, learning services, health and wellbeing services, play, leisure, youth services and lots more. It aims to help parents, carers and professionals that work with young people through its website which holds a directory of family related services, a local events listing and a library of useful publications.
Councillor Ali Thomas OBE, Leader of Neath Port Talbot Council said:
“The Family Information Service is a useful resource for both parents and professionals. It was great to see so many families meeting Sheldon during the school holidays to find out more about this fantastic free service. ”
