Neath Port Talbot Building Excellence Awards 2017
The very best of Neath Port Talbot’s construction industry gathered at The Towers Hotel and Spa on Friday 3rd February for the annual Building Control Awards. The event was hosted by Paul Fielding with after dinner entertainment provided by Neath Valley comedian, Colin Price. The awards were sponsored by a consortium of local businesses led by Seven Oaks Joinery of Neath Abbey.
The awards seek to reward good building practice, inviting Building Control Surveyors to nominate builders who they felt had excelled in the last twelve months in categories ranging from domestic alterations and extensions through to large commercial developments.
Neath Port Talbot Council Leader, Ali Thomas OBE who was in attendance to present the awards to the successful nominations said: “These awards are gaining momentum year on year and have become an established event in the industry.
“Once again they have been very well supported by local businesses and all those nominated can feel proud of their achievement in getting this far.
“I offer my best wishes to the winners who will now represent Neath Port Talbot in the Welsh regional finals that are to take place during the spring.”
Paul Davis, Building Control Manager at Neath Port Talbot added: “Tonight our construction industry in Neath Port Talbot comes together and celebrates excellence achieved in the last year.
“Builders do not always benefit from good media coverage, particularly as the less reputable ones often make the headlines, but these awards recognise quality and help us honour all those who are helping to construct a better Neath Port Talbot.
“The awards are for everyone and we have nominations ranging from local builders through to national contractors, who all have their place in our county borough.”
Amongst the winners were Barrie Scully Building Contractor (Best Local Builder), Hale Construction Ltd (Bayview, Aberavon) and Bouygues UK (Ysgol Bae Baglan).
