Spring Has Arrived In Margam Country Park

Spring into action, and get yourself down to Margam Country Park to meet the new arrivals on the Farm trail! ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The farm trail recently welcomed two lambs who are sure to be a hit with visitors as the weather breaks for the better. All the farm trail residents are native British breeds. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The two spring lambs are the first of the bunch of newborns expected at the park, four of the native breeds on show are due to lamb in the coming weeks, these include Black Welsh Mountain, Badger Faced, Jacob and Llanwenog which is included on the Rare Breed Survival Trust watch list for rare breeds.. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Leader of the Council, Ali Thomas OBE, said “The farm trail is a unique asset for the park that helps our young people understand and enjoy agriculture in a safe environment. As a council, we are working hard to raise educational standards for all young people. A child’s learning period is not limited to the time spent in school, and the farm trail is the perfect activity to help fire the imagination and inspire continued further learning.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The Park is staging lots of children’s activity sessions over the Easter holidays which can also be enjoyed. The Park is certainly a great destination for a family day out! ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Season tickets will be on sale at the end of month that can be purchased either online or from the entrance kiosk. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
