Think Easter Eggs Think Recycling
The message from Neath Port Talbot this Easter is – enjoy your chocolate eggs but don’t ignore the environment.
Every year millions of chocolate eggs are enjoyed over the Easter period in the UK but so often people ignore the impact the packaging makes on the environment with too much of it ending up in landfill.
Neath Port Talbot Council and Waste Awareness Wales is encouraging people to follow their tips for a waste free Easter break.
Leader of Neath Port Talbot Council, Cllr Ali Thomas OBE said: “At Easter we all like to indulge in a chocolate egg or two, but while we are enjoying our chocolate fix, we are asking residents to use the kerbside recycling service and recycle any waste packaging.
“With recycling being a key priority to the Council, we are always looking for ways to reduce the amount of waste we send to landfill. I’d like to thank residents for their continued support in helping us to achieve this.”
Visit Waste Awareness Wales for some ideas on how to save money and reduce waste this Easter.
You may be watching the calendar closely, crossing off the days, but don’t forget your waste and recycling collection days will be one day later next week due to the Easter Monday Bank Holiday.
