Appeal Over Fake Goods

This article is old - Published: Sunday, Jun 26th, 2016

Newport Trading Standards Officers are appealing to the public to help capture sellers trading in counterfeit goods. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The appeal follows a raid on the home of a Facebook trader who had been found to be selling counterfeit Michael Kors watches. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

As part of a national initiative, Newport Trading Standards Officers executed a warrant at the trader’s home and seized the counterfeit watches, along with branded clothing and footwear which are suspected of contravening the Trade Marks Act. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

If any Newport residents have information about people selling fake goods, or have been the victims of a counterfeit purchase, please contact Trading Standards by email trading.standards@newport.gov.uk or phone 01633 656656. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
