Council Leader Calls Meeting To Discuss Antisocial Behaviour In Pill

Newport City Council is acting immediately with its local partners to address concerns following an incident in the Pill area of the city on Thursday evening. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Councillor Debbie Wilcox, Leader of Newport City Council, has called a meeting on Monday to discuss the actions to be taken with members of the city’s Public Services Board. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Invited to attend the meeting will be representatives of Gwent Police, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and local councillors. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The safety and well-being of all residents of Newport is a priority for the council. The negative actions of a small group of people will not be tolerated. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
