There’s less than 24 hours to go before the stall holders present their delicious offerings and the chefs don their aprons at the Tiny Rebel Food and Drink Festival 2016. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

From 9am on Saturday 1 October, visitors to Newport City Centre will have their choice of local produce, foods from around the world, chef demonstrations, music, street entertainment and more. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

And if we weren’t already excited about what promises to be the city’s biggest and best so far, Newport Food and Drink Festival has been chosen by the UK’s leading holiday rentals site HolidayLettings.co.uk (owned by TripAdvisor) as one the top 13 October events to attend. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Their recent article ‘Where To Go & What To Do in October’ compiled the list to celebrate only the best of UK events taking place. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

• Free chef demonsatrtions in the gallery area of Newport Market and in the Pobl offices (top of High Street), 10.30am-4pm
• Teenchef final – gallery area of Newport Market, 10am
• Live music including a brass ensemble, Salsa and Cajun, community and Rock Choir – High Street, Westgate
• Square, outside and inside Newport Market, 11am-4pm
• Street entertainment including the stilt-walking Hungry Chefs, The Fairly Fresh Fish Co, magicians, face painting and the Capital Streetstars, all day
• Friars Walk and Kingsway Centre fringe events – outdoor chef demonstrations in Usk Plaza, tasting events, children’s competitions and treasure hunt competition, 10am-5pm
