Newport City Council is sorry to hear of the death of former Councillor Hugh Clark who served the Beechwood ward. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Councillor Bob Bright, Leader of Newport City Council, said: “I was deeply saddened to hear of Hugh’s passing. He was always concerned for others and not himself, representing the people of Newport with integrity. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“He showed courage in relation to his duties and did not let that interfere with his service to his ward and the council. My deepest sympathy and condolences to his family and friends at this sad time.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Former Councillor Clark represented the Beechwood ward on Newport City Council from 2008 to 2012 and also served as a Newport councillor many years ago. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
