All glamped up at the NEC
An enormous ‘glamping village’ is being built at the Caravan Camping and Motorhome Show later this month to promote Pembrokeshire as a place to visit this summer.
The organisers, The National Caravan Council, invited the tourism team at Pembrokeshire County Council to take over the feature space, which is the size of two tennis courts.
The village will include three inter-connected yurts, a dragon design tipi, two classic VW camper vans, a Lotus Bell Tent, a Bubble Tent and a timber pod.
The exhibits will be set in different themed areas including a woodland scene, a beach scene and another set in snow.
Cllr Keith Lewis, Deputy Leader of Pembrokeshire County Council said:
“This is a great opportunity for us to showcase Pembrokeshire as a holiday destination and to promote the camping and caravanning sector”.
Alan Turner, Tourism Marketing and Development Manager said:
“We’ve been working with a fantastic group of Pembrokeshire businesses who specialise in glamping holidays and in manufacturing yurts, tipi’s and log cabins. We could never have done this without their help and hard work.
“There are so many fantastic holiday options for camping and caravanning in Pembrokeshire. Having this enormous feature space right next to the show entrance gives us the perfect opportunity to promote that sector and Pembrokeshire.”
The show takes place at the NEC in Birmingham from 23rd to 28th February. Discounted tickets are available using the code VWE1
Wednesday will be Wales Day at the show with Welsh adventurer Maria Leijerstam, one of Visit Wales Year of Adventure ambassabors, on the theatre stage talking about epic crossing of Antarctica on a specially designed recumbent cycle. Also on stage will be a Welsh chef and a Pembrokeshire activity specialist talking about activity holidays.
