Assembly Election Nominations To Open Shortly

Nominations open on Tuesday, 22nd March, for candidates in the National Assembly for Wales elections in May. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

In Pembrokeshire there are two constituencies, Preseli Pembrokeshire and Carmarthen West / South Pembrokeshire.Voting takes place on Thursday, 5th May. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Candidates for the two constituencies have until 4 pm on Thursday, 7th April, to submit their nominations to the Constituency Returning Officer in County Hall, Haverfordwest. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Nominations for the National Assembly for Wales regional list and for the Dyfed Powys Police and Crime Commissioner election – also being held on 5th May – are required to be submitted to the Regional Returning Officer and the Police Area Returning officer in Carmarthen. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Those wishing to vote in the elections and the ‘In-Out’ European Union referendum on 23rd June have to be listed on the Electoral Register. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The deadline for registering to vote is 18th April. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
