Award For Shooting Club
A Milford Haven based shooting club has secured a prestigious award.
Value Independence Target Shooting Club has been given the Disability Sport Wales insport ribbon award for the provisions they have in helping disabled people gain access to their sport.
The club has been running for just over a year at Milford Haven Leisure Centre and is affiliated to the National Small-bore Rifle Association (NSRA).
Initially they had four shooting ranges that were replaced in August by 10 new ones.
This expanded what the club could offer and has enabled more shooting time for existing members and casual shooters. They are now looking at additional shooting slots within the week with the aim of producing national level participants in the future.
Angela Miles the Disability Sport Development officer for Pembrokeshire to present the club with the award saying.
“The growth in the club in such a short time is phenomenal; they now have over 20 members and are now looking at starting additional shooting slots during the week to attract new members for the future development of the club.”
