Bird Flu Information On Offer

Posters are being distributed offering guidance on a strain of avian influenza currently circulating on mainland Europe. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

On Wednesday the Cabinet Secretary for Environment and Rural Affairs, Lesley Griffiths, declared a prevention zone covering the whole of Wales to protect poultry from the disease. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The zone requires that all poultry and captive birds are housed or otherwise kept separate from wild birds. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
