Cricket ‘Pioneer’ Recognised

Leading cricket coach Nick Evans was guest at a reception in County Hall, Haverfordwest, on Thursday evening. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Nick from Narberth has been described as a “pioneer” in his field and his 40 years service to the game was marked with a community lifetime achievement award at the Wales Sports Awards in Cardiff recently. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Now 76 he still dedicates his time to playing, coaching and administering cricket in Pembrokeshire. He was also responsible for the development of women’s cricket – not just locally but throughout Wales. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The reception was hosted by Pembrokeshire County Council Chairman, Tony Brinsden, who is pictured with Nick and his Wales Sport Award. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
