Football Festival Hosted At Fishguard

Fishguard Sports football club recently hosted the South West Wales disability league festival at Tregroes Park, Fishguard.
Over 80 players participated from Bridgend Herons, Aberystwyth Stars, Swansea Bravehearts, Fishguard Sports, and Cleddau Warriors. The teams played in three ability bandings, Champions League, Premiership and Championship.
Certificates were presented to all players, and Matthew Lamb of Fishguard Sports presented medals to the player of the tournament and sportsmanship award, as follows:
Over 16 Championships:
Player of tournament – Kyle Davies – Swansea BraveheartsSportsmanship – Peter Williams – Aberystwyth Stars
Over 16 Premierships:
Player of tournament – Lloyd Crowley – Cleddau Warriors
Sportsmanship – Morgan Brunt – Bridgend Herons
Over 16 Champions League:
Player of tournament – Steven Brooks – Aberystwyth Stars
Sportsmanship – Mike Jones – Cleddau Warriors
Angela would like to thank the referees from Fishguard Sports AFC, and Bernie Armstrong – who visiting coaches said was the best referee that they had come across at any festival which they had played in.
“He showed great empathy and understanding of the players’ needs, and he explained his decisions which were accepted without question,” she said.
