Haverfordwest Plans On Display
Proposals to regenerate Haverfordwest have gone on public display – and residents and traders are being asked for their views.
A blueprint for the town’s future was first unveiled a few weeks ago.
Then it was revealed that a Welsh Government grant would help fund a £3.4 million scheme to transform the Riverside indoor market into a new County Library, information hub and exhibition gallery.
Now others parts of a ‘draft masterplan’ to help revitalise the town centre are being shown to the general public for the first time.
Pembrokeshire County Council’s Deputy leader, Keith Lewis, said the aim of the consultation was to establish a vision for Haverfordwest shared by residents, businesses and other interested parties alike.
Councillor Lewis added: “Establishing an agreed, shared vision should help make it easier for the Council to access resources, including funding from external sources
“This, in turn, should help make the realisation of projects, such as those identified in the draft vision, a possibility for the future.”
From Friday, 29th April to Friday, 27th May, details and drawings will be on display on the first floor landing area of County Hall in Haverfordwest.
Drop-in sessions, where the public can air their views on the ideas put forward, have also been organised.
These will take place at The Coffee Cave in High Street on Wednesday, 18th May between 5 pm and 8 pm and on Castle Square on Thursday, 19th May between 10 am and 5 pm.
Posters and leaflets are being circulated while the public can give their opinions on the Council’s website at: www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/haveyoursay where details and drawings are also available.
