Information Centre Is Delighted To Welcome David Saunders MBE

Milford Haven Library and Information Centre is delighted to welcome David Saunders MBE on Thursday 14th July for a fascinating talk on his life on Skomer Island. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

In 1960, he became the first warden of Skomer and set up home there with his wife and two small children as the only human inhabitants of the island. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The family spent seven years there, surrounded by thousands of seabirds, grey seals and the unique Skomer Vole. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

David, whose work in wildlife conservation led to an MBE, writes regularly for ‘Bird Watching’ magazine and has published a number of books including the ‘RSPB Guide to British Birds’. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The talk is entitled ‘What you need is a good milking goat’. It is free to attend and begins at 6:30pm. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
