Johnston Pupils’ Art On Display

A montage of pictures drawn by pupils from Johnston school has been unveiled by Pembrokeshire County Council Chairman Councillor Wynne Evans. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The artist students were on hand to see how their creative talents light up the Chairman’s suite after conducting a tour of County Hall. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

After travelling around the building meeting various departments to learn more about the democratic process, the children were treated to a reception by Cllr Evans where they were given a talk about the history of their school by Helen Evans of Pembrokeshire Archives and were able to see how their collage adorns the wall in full view of everyone who enters the room. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The students of class 5 entered the piece as part of the recent ‘I see Pembrokeshire’ art competition run by Pembrokeshire County Council and Councillor Evans hand-picked it for display in the suite. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Every pupil that contributed to the piece was here to see it on display,” said Cllr Evans. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Together they have produced a wonderful work of art and they should all be very proud of their efforts. There are some very talented pupils at the school.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
