Join The Race For Life!

Help beat cancer sooner by signing up for Race for Life at Scolton Manor on Sunday, June 19th. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

That’s the message from Cancer Research UK who planted 52 flags outside County Hall in Haverfordwest today (Friday). ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The 52 flags represent the number of people diagnosed with cancer every day in Wales – only half of whom will survive. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Every year, hundreds of women take part in the 5K event at Scolton Manor to raise money for research into all cancers. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Cllr Simon Hancock, Cabinet Member for Adult Service, Health and Well-being, urged people to sign up for the race, which this year will place on Father’s Day. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Race for Life is an amazing event which raises crucial funds for Cancer Research,” he said. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
