Learning Disabilities Consultation Launch

Pembrokeshire County Council, in conjunction with Hywel Dda University Health Board, is seeking the public’s views on future plans to support people with Learning Disabilities. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The draft strategy has been developed in collaboration with people with a learning disability, their parents and carers, partner agencies and organisations and sets out the vision and commitment to change and improve the quality of life and community support options for people with a learning disability. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The consultation process begins on 21st November for a 12-week period and will finish on 12th February, 2017. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

You can give your views by reading the documentation and completing the questionnaire or by attending one of the drop-in sessions (details below). ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

At the sessions you are welcome to use the Welsh-language. If you would like to do so, you will need to inform us a minimum of five working days in advance of the session. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

At the end of the process the Pembrokeshire Learning Disability Partnership Board will consider the comments and agree the final strategy. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

  • 7th December 2016: 1pm to 7pm, Archives Building, Haverfordwest.
  • 8th December 2016: 1pm to 6:30pm, Bloomfield Centre, Narberth.
  • 23rd January 2017: 1pm to 7pm, Town Hall, Fishguard.
  • 7th February 2017: 1pm to 7pm, Leisure Centre, Pembroke.

  • complete an online response form at www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/haveyoursay from 21st November.
