The Award is all about spending quality time outdoors as a family, doing a wide range of fun activities designed to help you discover, explore, conserve and share in the great wild places near you. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The ‘Discovery’ award is made up of 24 different challenges and activities and you are provided with all the information and guidance you will need to complete them all. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“Each activity will be clearly explained, will list the things you need to take with you, will give you amazing facts and ideas relating to the activity that you can pass on to members of your family, there’s help for parents to set up and run the activities safely and smoothly – managing expectations, behaviour and promoting boundaries and routines for their children. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“We’ll even help you on your way with a Free Family Bus Pass. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“You will get the chance to join lots of other families doing the award, you’ll have the chance to participate in lots of special John Muir Award Days and we hope to celebrate your achievements at the end of your award in a special families’ event. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
