Plan Looks At The Year Ahead
Pembrokeshire County Council has agreed its main objectives for the year ahead.
Its Improvement Plan 2016 – 2017 was agreed at a meeting of Full Council on Thursday (12th May).
The plan outlines five main objectives for the Council over the coming year.
They include:
- supporting schools to improve children and young people’s education results, especially at GCSE level.
- regenerating town centres.
- reorganising adult care services to strengthen preventative and community based services
- improving our governance and scrutiny arrangements
- developing new ways of working in order to meet the financial constraints the Authority faces.
Council Leader, Councillor Jamie Adams, said that Elected Members would now be considering how to make service changes – including whether to consider other options – over the coming months.
He added that key service decisions would have to be made against the backdrop of uncertainty caused by Welsh Government’s proposals for local government reorganisation and continued reductions in the Revenue Support Grant.
The annual Improvement Plan complements the County’s Single Integrated Plan – the most important strategic document for the County – which is compiled by the County Council and partner organisations such as the police and health board.
