Pupils Pay Without Cash
A revolutionary way of paying for school meals has been rolled out across Pembrokeshire’s secondary schools.
Biometric Finger Recognition uses the finger and its image to identify each student allowing pupils to pay for school meals without the need to carry cash.
Payment can be made online through the Authority’s My Account function saving parents the burden of having to find cash each day to give to their children to pay for school meals.
“This innovative system provides parents and guardians with the peace of mind of knowing that dinner money is at all times safe,” said Pembrokeshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, Councillor David Lloyd.
“It also allows for swift transactions at the checkout reducing queuing times.
“Above all, it provides anonymity for those pupils entitled to free school meals.”
