Redhill Pupils Tour County Hall
Year 6 Pupils from Redhill Prep School in Haverfordwest, who are currently studying Politics as part of their curriculum, had a behind-the-scenes tour of Pembrokeshire County Council’s offices at County Hall this week.
As well as visiting various departments, the Year 6 children met staff from the contact centre, and had refreshments with the Chairman, Cllr Wynne Evans.
Their tour was followed by a visit to the Council chamber where they took part in a lively question and answer session with Cllr Evans, Cllr Ken Rowlands, and Cllr David Simpson.
Among their many questions were ‘When is the Council going to re-tarmac the potholes in Uzmaston Road’, ‘Are you going to build any more parks?’ and ‘Is it hard work being a chairman?’
The pupils represented various groups within the school, including the School Council, and health and safety committee,
They were accompanied by Louise Barrington, Year 6 teacher, and John Couceiro, LSA.
William Letten, head boy from Redhill School said: “We enjoyed our visit to County Hall. We learned about the different ways the council help Pembrokeshire and we look forward to visiting again soon”.
