The 50th birthday celebrations at Portfield School included the official opening of a refurbished outdoor play area at the lower school. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The new area offers pupils a safe and secure soft-surface area, where they can develop their motor skills, run, jump, play and have fun! ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The area includes climbing and balancing equipment and role play areas which proves the Foundation phase pupils with enriched outdoor learning opportunities. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The communication trumpets are a great success encouraging pupils to talk to each other across the playground. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Mrs Painter said that she and the staff are grateful for the work of the Friends and the Tenby Lions, who have provided the funding to develop this area, also to Mrs Evans from Saundersfoot who gave a donation in memory of her late husband, and to the County Council for their support in removing the previous hard surface. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
