Successful Launch For Springboard!

A project which aims to give families more opportunities to enjoy learning together had a fantastic reception when it was launched at Milford Haven Junior School. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The Springboard launch attracted more than 250 people who had a great time participating in the free family activities provided, from face painting to jewellery making, cake decorating and crazy crafts. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Headteacher Mr Rees was thrilled with the turn out and said the event marked a very impressive start to the school’s partnership working with Springboard. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“The turnout for the Springboard Fair was fantastic,” he said. The various activities fully engaged both children and adults and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“The interest was great enough for substantial numbers to book themselves onto the forthcoming courses which is great news for the school as it is trying to develop parental engagement,” he added. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Springboard is a Learning Pembrokeshire project funded by Milford Haven Junior School. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Project leaders will run an exciting range of free, activities for adults and children throughout the year which will enable them to enjoy learning and develop new skills together. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Activities will take place every Thursday with sessions for adults in the mornings and families in the afternoons. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The courses will change every half term, and all adults with a family member at Milford Haven Juniors are more than welcome. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
