Upgraded Leisure Centre Unveiled Soon
Tenby Leisure Centre is due to open its new front doors on Tuesday, 12th April, it has been announced.
It means that the first phase of a £1.7 million extension and refurbishment of the facility has been completed.
The finished work includes a fitness suite in a new extension plus a refurbishment of the ground floor to create a new reception and cafe area.
The dance studio, sports hall and pool changing facilities have also been upgraded.
Phase two of the scheme is due to finish around nine weeks later and comprises work on the downstairs changing rooms, external landscaping and road works along with the new community room / class studio.
Centre Manager, Darren Bowen, said: “The next stage of work will commence as soon as we vacate the temporary reception so users will still notice some ground and building works going on but this should not cause much disruption.”
Pembrokeshire County Council’s Leisure Services Manager, Chris Payne, said: “We would like to thank all of our customers for their patience, understanding and support during the build period.
“We hope to keep any further disruption to a minimum during the remainder of the works.”
