Another Family Event Planned This Weekend As The Mouth-Watering Big Welsh Bite

We have yet another family event planned this weekend as the mouth-watering Big Welsh Bite makes a welcome return. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The spectacular two-day food festival showcases all of the mouth-watering culinary delights that are being served up across our County Borough. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Organised by the Council, Big Welsh Bite 2016 takes place at Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, Pontypridd – the home of the National Lido of Wales – on Saturday, August 6, and Sunday, August 7. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Among the many attractions over the weekend will be cookery demonstrations with residential chef Geoff Tookey. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

There will also be a fine array of food and craft stalls, packed full of local produce all grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the stallholders themselves. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Master chef Geoff Tookey,a firm Big Welsh Bite favourite, will be on hand cooking up some of the finest cuisine you can ever imagine. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Having worked in the highly-competitive catering industry for over 35 years, at many of the UK’s finest hotels and restaurants, Geoff has a wealth of experience which he is keen to share at this year’s Big Welsh Bite. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Other great attractions for all the family include fabulous arena acts such as Duck Driving, Birds of Prey and Racing Llamas, plus a visit to the farm area and Silent World Aquarium is a must for all ages. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Recreating a real-life rock pool in Rhondda Cynon Taf, the Silent World Aquarium will feature many of the creatures you would normally find in a rock pool down at the at the beach. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Also keep an eye open for the stilt-walking chef, who will be head and shoulders above everyone else on the showground, along with roller-skating Tomato and Peach! ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
