Council’s Continued And On-Going Approach To Engaging With Its Residents
Residents have been having their say on their community, Council services and what they would like to see developed in their communities as part of a major public consultation exercise.
As part of the Council’s continued and on-going approach to engaging with its residents and service users, it is going out into the community to listen and talk to a wide range of residents.
The Council’s next ‘Have Your Say’ event takes place at Tonypandy Town Centre 10am-2pm Friday August 26.
Since its launch, the RCT Together approach has seen the Council develop its engagement with residents and the latest events give people the opportunity to discuss Council services and what is important to individuals, families and groups and the wider communities of Rhondda Cynon Taf.
Cllr Maureen Webber, Deputy Leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, with responsibility for Public Engagement,, said: “Through our successful RCT Together approach we have been continually developing our engagement with residents with roadshows, Cabinet Member events and an interactive budget simulator all introduced over the last two years.
“As part of this approach, and linked to the introduction of the Wellbeing and Future Generation and Social Services and Wellbeing Acts, we are working in partnership with all public services and agencies involved in the Cwm Taf area to develop our understanding of what matters to our residents and their communities.
“These conversations assist us as a Council and our partners to understand our communities better as we continue to plan and deliver a wide range of public services during times of reduced public funding.
“The successful roadshow events, which were introduced during last year’s budget consultation process, have already taken place in Aberdare and Pontypridd this summer and our next event takes place in Tonypandy this Friday with anyone welcome to attend to discuss matters of importance whether related to Council provided services or wider community issues and development ideas.”
If you can’t make an event, an online questionnaire entitled “Understanding Our Communities” is available.
The Council’s next ‘Have Your Say’ event takes place at Tonypandy Town Centre 10am-2pm Friday August 26. All are welcome.
