First-Ever Rhondda Cynon Taf Mayor’s Good Citizen Awards

he Rhondda Cynon Taf Mayor’s Good Citizen Awards will recognise and honour County Borough residents who may not receive the recognition they deserve for their efforts to improve their community and/or those residents that have made an outstanding contributions and achievements within their field, for example sport or culture. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Mayor, Cllr Barry Stephens JP, said: “I am delighted to be launching our Good Citizen Awards. On a daily basis, our wonderful citizens from across the County Borough continue to undertake selfless deeds and give their time and efforts to ensure the community is a better and safer place to live. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“These individuals and their hard work largely go unrecognised but that will no longer be the case thanks to our Good Citizen Awards. We can now give these people the recognition and praise that they so fully deserve.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Do you know someone who goes that extra mile? Someone who is a volunteer, cares for the elderly, is an active member of the community or someone who just tirelessly helps those in need? ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

To nominate an individual for a Rhondda Cynon Taf Mayor’s Good Citizen Award, email goodcitizenaward@rctcbc.gov.uk by 10pm on Sunday, May 1. Please include the name and address of your nominee and the reason for nominating them. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
