Work is due to start September 12th to deliver further investment which will see additional car park spaces, the extension and resurfacing of the footpath and resurfacing and improvement works to the access road to ensure good accessibility to the improved leisure centre. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Cllr Andrew Morgan, Leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, said: “We promised to invest in our leisure centres to provide the modern facilities for our residents. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“The improvements to Abercynon Sports Centre will be complemented by further investment in the car park and the surrounding highways to ensure ease of access for all existing and new members visiting the leisure centre. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“I am extremely proud of the way in which staff, with the support of the Cabinet Member for Leisure, Cllr Ann Crimmings, have delivered the investment in Abercynon.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Access will be maintained to the sports centre during the works, however staff on site will advise of any likely disruption as the works progress. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
