Having been tipped for stardom by such luminaries as Peter Kay and the late Bob Monkhouse after winning the Best Newcomer to Variety Award, Rod has gone on to support Paddy McGuinness and Russell Brand on tour. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

He also wrote and performed his own one-man show for a 25-night run at the Edinburgh Festival. But the highlight of his career so far has been performing at the 2014 Royal Variety Performance. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Rod also won the BBC 1 Wales Comedy Competition ‘Funny Business’ and has now embarked on his own UK tour, called The Journey Starts Here. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Playing to packed houses all over the country, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is delighted to welcome Rod Woodward to the County Borough. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

He describes his act as a mix of traditional and alternative comedy, guaranteed to have audiences laughing all the way home. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Cllr Ann Crimmings, Cabinet Member for the Environment, Leisure and Culture, said: “A fantastic night of comedy is on the cards in the company of Rod Woodward. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
