The school holidays are upon us – and we have the perfect event to keep the little ones amused this weekend. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

A FREE Family Fun Day is set to take place in Mountain Ash town centre on Saturday (July 30) from 10am until 3pm. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Roads around the town centre will remain open as all the fun will take place in and around Rhos Square and the adjacent car park, near the statue of legendary Welsh runner Guto Nyth Bran. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Attractions include a funfair, face-painting, balloon-modelling and guest appearances by various mascot characters. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Also coming along will be the ever-popular Charlie Bubble and his Musical, Magical Bubble Trike. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Riding around on his vintage three-wheel bike, complete with music and a trail of bubbles, Charlie will keep the children entertained all day long. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

And if that is not enough, get along to the Childrens’ Disco, which will be pumping out all the great classics to get the little ones up dancing. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Visitors of all ages will also be able to get up close to a variety of creatures at The Nearly Wild Show – from rabbits, mice and guinea pigs to snakes, lizards and spiders. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Cllr Andrew Morgan, Leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council and ward member for Mountain Ash West, said: “This is yet another fantastic family event being organised by the Council, one which will no doubt attract many people to the town centre on what is already a busy trading day. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“The Mountain Ash Family Fun Day takes place adjacent to the town’s railway station, so why not let the train take the strain and come along to make the most of the day out.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

  • The Mountain Ash Family Fun Day takes place at Rhos Square on Saturday, July 30, from 10am until 3pm. Please note charges apply for funfair rides.
