Supermarket ban from Cathays man

Stanley Fletcher from Cathays Terrace, Cardiff, has been issued with a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO). ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

He is now prohibited from shouting foul and offensive language in Cathays Terrace and Maindy Road. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The 70-year-old is also banned from entering the Lidl store and its car park on Maindy Road, approaching staff at the store, and any vehicle in the car park. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

If he breaches the five-year order, he will be committing a criminal offence which could result in a prison sentence. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Anti-social behaviour officer Pc Alex Bourner said: “Stanley Fletcher has been causing anti social behaviour since 2012 and a lot of work has been done in the last few months to resolve this problem. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“We hope he uses the restrictions placed upon him effectively and as a way of turning his life around.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

In October, Stanley Fletcher was issued with a Community Protection Notice but he breached conditions of the notice by continuing to cause alarm and distress to both Lidl’s staff and customers. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

He appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on January 21 when he was fined £120 and made the subject of the CBO. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
