Thousands of youngsters made half-term one to remember for record-breaking visitor figures at Plantasia. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The February half-term saw thousands enjoy a day out of the cold, in the tropical rainforest and see Cuddles the python, Haku the Asian water monitor, both new to the city centre attraction. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Visitor numbers were at record levels and it was the busiest half-term since records began when Plantasia first opened its doors in February 1990, 27 years ago. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

All shows for the Animal Zone: Rainforest Adventure sold out and nearly 700 people attended the interactive animal shows over three days at the Swansea Council run attraction. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Robert Francis-Davies, Cabinet Member for Enterprise, Development and Regeneration said: “This is fantastic news as Plantasia is one of Swansea’s most popular, well-loved attractions. The fact that the whole family can enjoy the tropical climate indoors at Plantasia, whatever the weather is like outside, is a huge bonus.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“Plantasia normally get about 10,000 visitors in the school summer holidays, but to see this volume of people coming through the doors in the February half term is pretty staggering. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“Plantasia is a great place to visit and I’d urge people to keep an eye on the website for more activities organised throughout the year”. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Easter break activities have already been arranged starting with Animal Encounters on April 11-13 where you can come face to face with meerkats, a giant Black-throat lizard, a laughing Kookaburra and more. Then on April 18-20 you can enjoy Animal Zone: Beast Creator where you can meet some of nature’s pest controllers and problem solvers including cockroaches, millipedes, scorpions, tarantulas and snakes! ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
