Botanics In Bloom Is Back For August
August is here – and that means Botanics in Bloom is back.
The festival, which takes place every August, celebrates the Singleton Botanical Gardens at their most spectacular.
Swansea Council is behind the festival, which includes live music at the Green Flag-winning beauty spot every Sunday throughout the month.
Live music performances will include the U3A Ukulele Band from 3pm to 5pm on Sunday August 7, Trim Bling Star from 3pm to 5pm on Sunday August 14, and a local musicians’ cover band on Sunday August 21 from 3pm to 5pm. The Swansea Accordion Orchestra will perform on Sunday August 28 from 3pm to 5pm.
Other fun will include guided walks around the gardens every Wednesday and Saturday in August from 2pm, as well as games and activities for children throughout the month.
Cllr Robert Francis-Davies, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Enterprise, Development and Regeneration, said: “The Botanical Gardens in Singleton are a credit to the staff based there and everyone else involved in what’s a truly beautiful attraction.
“It’s a wonderful facility to visit at any time of the year, but it’s especially impressive in August because this is when many of the huge variety of flowers there are in bloom.
“This means August is the perfect time to hold the family-friendly Botanics in Bloom festival that combines games and activities for children with live music and the chance to discover the gardens for yourself with guided tours.”
Some of the attraction’s most celebrated features include ornamental gardens, a rock garden and a Japanese bridge – all popular backdrops for wedding photographs.
