Lots Of Swansea Fun Left For School Summer Holidays
The school holidays may be fast coming to a close but there is still lots of fun to be had across Swansea Bay this summer.
For children and adults, families or couples there are many events being held, but not all are dependent on the ever-changing weather.
From getting up close and personal with the creatures at the interactive animal zone in Plantasia from August 16 to August 18, to sampling the delights of The Big Swansea Food and Drink Festival at the Brangwyn Hall on August 21, there is something for everyone nearly every day of the week.
There will also be crafty fun for children at Oystermouth Castle on August 17 and August 24.
If the sun is shining then you can take the kids along to watch the free viewing of Minions on the Big Screen in the city centre’s Castle Square – also on August 24.
Cllr Robert Francis-Davies, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Enterprise, Development and Regeneration, said: “Swansea Bay is the place to be this summer. For family fun, it’s second to none because there is such a wide and varied range of activities and events planned that people can really make it into a great day out.
“That al-fresco feel can also be experienced across the city, too, because of all the great shops and places to eat.”
To mark ‘Roald Dahl 100’ in Swansea, the Dylan Thomas Centre will be the place to be from August 22 to August 28 when the Council’s literature programme continues with a week of workshops and events dedicated to one of the world’s most popular storytellers ever.
September’s events include music giants Noel Gallagher and Club MTV coming to Singleton Park, classic outdoor cinema at Oystermouth Castle showing Grease and Back to the Future, and the award-winning Admiral Swansea Bay 10K.
