Road Closures For Swansea Triathlon On Sunday June 5
Road closures will be in place in Swansea city centre on Sunday June 5 to accommodate the Swansea Triathlon.
Oystermouth Road will be closed between its junctions with Wind Street and Sketty Lane from 4pm to 8pm, although arrangements will be in place for vehicles to be able to access and leave areas like the marina in-between these times.
Diversions will be in place via New Cut Road, Carmarthen Road, Cockett Road and Sketty Lane.
Signs are in place on Oystermouth Road informing motorists about the event, the road closure and the diversions. A request has also been made with Traffic Wales to display information on M4 screens.
Motorists travelling along the M4 looking to get to areas west of the city centre while the triathlon is on – including Mumbles and Gower – may wish to use junction 47 as an alternative.
The Swansea Triathlon is being organised by Activity Wales Events.
A Swansea Council spokesperson said: “This is a major sporting event that will boost Swansea’s profile as a city of sport but, as with any event of this kind, there will be an element of disruption.
“We’d encourage motorists who have to make journeys in the area while the triathlon is on to follow the well-signed diversions that will be in place.”
