The Whatuni Student Rankings are based on averages taken from thousands of reviews submitted by students and published on Whatuni.com. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

They cover the following 10 categories: Accommodation, City Life, Clubs & Societies, Course & Lecturers, Job Prospects, Student Union, Uni Facilities, Support Services, and an Overall rating which counts towards the title University of the Year. The category for International is based on the overall rating as given by international students at each university. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The rankings, now in their third year, offer prospective students an unbiased, student-led alternative to traditional university ranking systems. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Over the last year, 25,000 reviews were collected; 125 universities met the minimum threshold to be considered for a Student Choice Award; and 39 universities have received a nomination. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

With the 2016 results so closely following the Green Paper and consultation focussing on student choice, teaching excellence, and social mobility, there has never been a more crucial time to collect and analyse student satisfaction ratings from across the UK. We’re very proud of the work our team have accomplished in order to produce this year’s rankings, which sees 14 new institutions included, and a 25% growth in sample size, as more students discover the importance of their own voice in changing policy not just at their chosen institution, but across the entire sector.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
