The group’s set – featuring ‘Get Ready’ by The Temptations, and ‘Runnin” by Naughty Boy ft. Beyonce – was identified by the judging panel – consisting of West End musical actor Jodie Jacobs, West End musical director Nick Barstow, and Hollyoaks actress Sophie Austin – as “ticking all the boxes” with “slick choreography” and “impressive vocals”. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Outgoing president, Ellie Ralphs, was in tears as she accepted the award on behalf of her group who were all visibly shocked but delighted at their win. Of the win, Ralphs said “This means so much to us – we’ve worked at this for years, and had countless rehearsals, and I’m so proud of everyone on this stage – we did it!” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Swansea beat last year’s winners – Cambridge – into second place; and newcomers Kent picked up the Best Soloist award. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
