Improvements For Civic Centre Customers

A major revamp of the Civic Centre in Pontypool is underway, creating an improved customer care area and enhancements to the building’s security. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The works, which started in March, have seen the creation of a new customer express desk to enable inquiries to be dealt with faster and more self service areas including a payment kiosk and an area for people to drop in and collect recycling boxes, bags and food caddies. The new security measures include controlled access for staff and visitors to the building through a turnstile system. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Cllr Gwyneira Clark, executive member for housing, planning and public protection said: ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“We’ve had very positive response from customers to the improvements and the ability to simply pop in and pick up new recycling containers, bags and boxes is proving extremely popular. We expect the works to be completed by the end of March and look forward to providing a much improved experience for customers, visitors and staff.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
