Trading Standards are warning residents of a possible phone scam. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

A man with an indian accent is calling residents claiming to be from Pontypool council and is calling in connection with a recent accident they may have been involved in and asks for personal information. We’re reminding residents not to give out any personal information over the phone. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

If anyone does receive such a call, contact Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 03454 040506 or to contact OFCOM. If residents are on the Telephone Preference Service can they also report the matter to them. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
