Changes To Vale Of Glamorgan Bus Services 88, 90, 100 And B3 From April 2017
The following changes will be applied from Sunday 02 April 2017 following a recent tender by the Vale of Glamorgan Council for supported local bus services:
- Service 88 (Barry – Penarth) will instead be provided by Easyway (Tel: 01656 655655) from Monday, 03 April 2017 based on the existing timetable.
- Service 90 (Barry – Culverhouse Cross M&S/Tesco) will instead be provided on a commercial basis (i.e. not under Contract to the Vale of Glamorgan Council) by Harton Coaches (Tel: 01446 439749) from Monday, 03 April 2017. Harton Coaches has slightly revised the current timetable to include Asda at Barry Waterfront.
- Service 100 (Barry local Sunday service) will instead be provided by Cardiff Bus (Tel: 029 20 66644) from Sunday, 02 April 2017 based on the existing timetable.
- Service B3 (Barry local service) will instead be provided by Easyway (Tel: 01656 655655) from Monday, 03 April 2017. The timetable has been slightly revised to re-route the service away from Pardoe Crescent and Neale Street and will instead run between Walker Road and Barry Road via Buttrills Road on certain journeys. In addition, the terminus (stopping point) of the service will also be moved from Porth-y-Castell to the Lakeside bus stop at the Knap, but continue to serve the Garden Suburb area.
All other Vale of Glamorgan Council supported local bus services remain unchanged. Timetable information is available from www.traveline.cymru (Tel: 0800 464 00 00) and also on the Council’s website.
Councillor Peter King, Cabinet Member for Building Services, Highways and Transportation, said: ”I am delighted that the Council can continue to support these vital bus services, which allows residents and visitors to travel around the Council’s area without needing to use a private car. I am really pleased that following the opening of the Barry Waterfront Link Road, both Cardiff bus and Harton coaches will now be serving the new Asda site.”
