Council’s Announcement That Barry Island’s Beach Huts Were Going To Be Available For Year-Long Rentals
Following the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s announcement that Barry Island’s beach huts were going to be available for year-long rentals, a surge of interest has seen them snapped up in quick time.
The six large huts and six small huts were fully booked during the first day of being made available, as people rushed to hire the huts.
There are still opportunities for people to book beach huts on a daily basis. This can be done by contacting the Council’s C1V contact centre on 700111, or by booking online. Beach huts can also be booked in person when on Barry Island, but to avoid disappointment it is recommended to book in advance, either online or by phone.
Daily use costs for a small hut will be £10 for peak times and £5 for off peak, while large huts will be £20 during peak periods and £10 during off peak.
Cllr Lis Burnett, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Education said, “The amount of interest we have received in renting beach huts has been overwhelming. It is pleasing to see that they are going to be well used, providing enjoyment and fun for many.”
