Football Victorious At Victoria Park’s Fun Day
Victoria Park hosted the annual Vale of Glamorgan Football Fun Day recently, and saw a range of local children attend the popular event.
Organised by the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Sport Development team in conjunction with the Parks Department, the activity formed part of Vale’s Olympic Plan, which inspires local residents to take part in sustained sports participation and hopes to encourage young people of all ages to be more physically active.
The session sought to provide the opportunity for children to participate in football in a fun and enjoyable environment, and comprised of a number of fun football games to make up morning, with a tournament following in the afternoon. With over 60 participants attending the event, there were some fantastic ball skills and team work – inspired by the recent success of the men’s national team in France, and the athletes currently competing at the Olympics in Rio – on display throughout the day.
