‘Glowminton’ To Get Vale Girls On The Move
A partnership has been developed between the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Sports and Development team and Badminton Wales, with the shared aim of getting more girls across the Vale active as part of the ‘Vale Girls on the Move’ campaign.
If you know of any girls aged 11 and above, who would like to try something different to stay active, Glowminton might be the perfect activity for them.
Glowminton is a new and exciting approach to playing badminton – in the dark. It is informal, using UV shuttlecocks and nets, as well as neon wristbands/body-paint and having music in the background. Sessions start on Thursday 15 September – 5pm – 6pm – at Holm View Leisure Centre, Barry. The first session is free and there-after £1.00 per session, with rewards for attending the sessions.
This initiative forms part of the Active Young People scheme, which is all about getting young people active more often, by encouraging them to exercise more frequently throughout the week.
