The new crossing which will be controlled by light signals is being installed to create a safer route for pupils walking to the new Llantwit Learning Community and nearby playing fields. The Council’s highways engineers also believe the controlled crossing will help slow traffic on what is at times a very busy road. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Having visited the site and inspected the work being undertaken, Cllr Gwyn John, Cabinet Member for Visible and Leisure Service, said: “I am delighted to see that the work to provide this safe crossing point well underway. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“This is a busy road, near a school and playing fields. The safety of pedestrians, especially children, is of the utmost importance and this crossing will enable them to safely walk to their destination.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
